Season synopsis

Season 1 of Taskmaster Portugal, consisting of eight 90-minute episodes, began airing on Saturdays, starting on the 19th of March 2022.

The season featured Vasco Palmeirim and Nuno Markl as the titular Taskmaster and his assistant, respectively, and a panel of fixed contestants comprising Jéssica Athayde (actor), Inês Aires Pereira (actor), Gilmário Vemba (comedian), and Toy (musician, actor).

The fifth seat on stage is occupied by a different guest contestant each week, including: Fernando Mendes (comedian & presenter); António Zambujo (singer-songwriter); Pedro Torchas (comedian); Carla Andrino (actor); Inês Castel-Branco (actor); Rita Salema (actor); Manuel Marques (actor); and Jorge Mourato (actor).

Notes

  • In September 2021, it was announced that Vasco Palmeirim and Nuno Markl would host a Portuguese version of Taskmaster, with production scheduled for October 2021, and a premiere in early 2022.
  • Starting in October 2021, Nuno posted several photos from the production on his Instagram account, including a Taskmaster logo about to be mounted, a close-up of his 'TM' badge, and rubber ducks falling past a shed.
  • On the 7th of November 2021, it was reported that the actor Jéssica Athayde would be one of the 'fixed cast' of the show, indicating a possibility that the show may have a different guest contestant on each episode.
  • On the 18th of November 2021, Nuno shared that all of the studio recording sessions had been completed.
  • On the 25th of November 2021, it was leaked that the contestants for the series would also include Inês Aires Pereira (actor), Gilmário Vemba (comedian), and Toy (musician, actor).
  • Starting on the 10th of January 2022, the official Taskmaster Portugal Instagram account began posting weekly teaser images from the show, including: a rubber duck, a polystyrene head floating in a pool, a bottle of wine, two glasses, and a bunch of roses, a pile of Taskmaster note cards, a tape measure and teabags scattered on a lawn, a gold bath tub, and the well-stocked shelves of a shed.
  • On the 23rd of January 2022, an article was published, based on an interview with Vasco Palmeirim, disclosing that the first season of the show would have eight episodes.
  • On the 27th of January 2022, it was disclosed in a post on atelevisao.com that the show would begin airing on Saturdays, starting in March, and that the episodes would each be 90 minutes long.
  • On the 26th of February 2022, the first video footage from the season was shared on the official Taskmaster PT Instagram account, showing what could be the ‘make the most striking water feature’ task.
  • Additional clips from pre-filmed tasks were subsequently released on social media, indicating that the season would also include the 'fell all the ducks', ‘travel blindfolded for three minutes and retrace your steps’, 'eat the watermelon', 'move the water from one bucket to another', and 'make the block of ice disappear' tasks.
  • On the 9th of March 2022, it was officially announced, via an Instagram story, that the show would begin airing on the 19th of March 2022.
  • The identities of seven guest contestants was also revealed in an article on the 9th of March.
